Growing up on a farm just outside of a small town in northern Minnesota allowed me the opportunity to find peace in solitude and truly connect with nature. Although the youngest of five, I spent much of my time alone, conversing with trees and befriending animals. I didn’t know at the time that this would set me up for what I seek in my daily life today. To explore a deeper connection with myself, mother earth and all that inhabits it. 

My spiritual journey began as a young child, but as many of us do, I lost my way. Trying to fit in by seeking the next exciting high, whether it be shopping, a career, drugs and alcohol, even motherhood. It wasn't until my dad unexpectedly passed away in 2017 that my whole world shifted under my feet. I realized how unhappy and unfulfilled I was. I could no longer stand being in my own skin. I found myself unable to do much of anything, parenting was hard, getting out of bed was hard….my career was next to impossible. So, I quit life for a while. After spending some time in the shadows of my grief, I emerged with a longing for more. Without thinking, I followed my intuition and was guided to attend a yoga teacher training in Guatemala. There I began my healing journey and received my 200hr yoga teacher training. 

Upon my return I founded Twisted Yoga by Kari. My core value as a teacher is to create a space where everyBODY feels welcome, encouraged and supported, whether in a studio setting, among a flower field, in my yard, or anywhere I find myself guiding students. I focus on grounding and nurturing, connecting with the breath and truly embodying the purpose of yoga and finding inner peace and acceptance within oneself. 

My yoga business has been the foundation for many other avenues of growth. Along with teaching yoga, I am also a Reiki Master, Sound Healer, Flower Essence Practitioner, Breathe and Believe Breathwork Facilitator, Trauma Informed for Youth Instructor, Yoga Barre Certified, Advanced Certified Floral Designer, Retreat Hostess, Intuitive Coach, Womb & Tantric Coach, Artist, Photographer etc. I am constantly a continuation of learning and growing. My business adventures have begun to merge into something unique to me and I am embracing where the universe is guiding me. 

Earth Moon Magick was born in the spring of 2023. This business is the embodiment of who I am and will continue to transform with me. I am passionate about guiding people through their shadows and supporting them in their greatest transformations through a variety of modalities.

I also create and host retreats for women, aiming to awaken, inspire, and support the divinity within as well as create a supportive network of sisterhood. I am very passionate about creating an environment where women feel safe to explore their traumas, identify their own behaviors that keep them stuck in the loop of despair and support them with guidance and tools to help heal their inner child and connect with their higher selves.

I use a wide array of modalities and spend many hours deep in my own spiritual practices to allow space for my own continued healing journey.
